The highway Department is responsible for the maintenance of all town roads including repairs and plowing as well as maintaining roadside ditches and drainage basins.

Blue Bins

Blue bins can be picked up at the Town Hall during regular office hours.

Yard Waste

Leaves, brush and grass clippings are accepted year round. Waste may be dropped off anytime at the highway department yard on Lee Mulroy Rd., across from the highway garage. Christmas trees can also be dropped off. The pile is located to the left as you enter the yard.

Trash Days

Trash Days are normally held every Spring and Autumn. Town & Village residents may obtain trash permits from the Town Clerk beginning one month prior to the start date.

Fridays: April 28, May 5 & May 12     8:00 am to noon
Saturdays: April 29, May 6 & May 13       8:00 am to noon

 

Shred Event – Saturday, May 6, 2023 8:00 am to noon.  Limit 5 boxes per car.  At the Lee Mulroy Trash Days site.

There will be a trash transfer station on the Town property, across from the Town Highway Garage on the East side of Lee Mulroy Road. A user fee will be charged to offset the cost of this service. Permits may be purchased at the Town Clerk’s Office, 22 East Main Street, Marcellus, New York during regular office hours, Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 4:30 pm

PERMITS ARE REQUIRED TO USE THIS SERVICE.

Fees: Passenger Vehicle                        $20.00 – Up to six loads
Passenger Vehicle                                  $10.00 – One Time/Trip Only
Pickup Truck or Commercial Van      $35.00 – Up to four loads
Larger Vehicle                                         $50.00 – Up to two loads
Trailers                                                     $45.00 – Up to four loads
Fees for Tires:        Tires up to 19.5 rim diameter Only:    $ 3.00 Each

Freon Removal Fees: $15.00 PER UNIT: Refrigerators, Dehumidifiers, Air Conditioners

 

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED

1. No garbage (food waste) or OCRRA recyclables
2. No liquids – including paint or hazardous waste
3. No oil tanks or fuel tanks
4. No contractors’ debris (home projects only)

ALL ITEMS MUST BE SECURED AND COVERED WHEN TRANSPORTING TO TOWN TRANSFER STATION.

Please no children under 10 years of age allowed out of the vehicles for their Safety.
Please unload and leave as quickly as possible.
