It is the mission of this Code Enforcement Office to work in partnership with the people of the Town of Marcellus to promote and maintain a safe and desirable living and working environment.
Code Enforcement Officer—John Houser
Building Safety Inspector – Deb Williams
Duties include:
Enforcement of the Residential and Commercial International Code.
- Review building permit applications
- Review building plans
- Issue building permits
- Perform building inspections
- Issue certificates of occupancy & compliance
Fire Inspections:
- All public assembly occupancies annually
- All other business occupancies every 3-years
Enforcement of the Town Zoning Law
- Regulation of land and building uses
Enforcement of additional regulations including:
- Wetland Regulations
- Flood Plain Regulations
- Storm Water Management
- Local Laws including the “Litter Law”
Issuance of Burn Permit and performance of related inspections
Assistant to Codes- Joanna Clarke
Duties include:
- Assisting building permit applicants
- Answering building department related questions
- Scheduling building inspections
- Processing related paperwork
